Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is one of those wonder-remedies that can treat multiple ailments. As one of many natural toxins used in medical practice, Botox has been used in the treatment of a range of eye problems, muscle stiffness/spasms, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, after strokes, migraines, neck pains, excess sweating, bladder issues, and, of course, in the field of cosmetics for the past 40 years.
Very effective in correcting wrinkles and excess sweating, Botox is administered through a series of tiny intramuscular injections by a doctor. Once administered, the substance temporarily blocks nerve endings controlling the muscles associated with wrinkles or overactive sweat glands. Most patients start to see an effect within 2 to 3 days and the effect usually lasts for a number of months depending on the treatment. The full effect usually sets in after 3 to 10 days.
Botox is a very flexible substance. You can ask the doctor to ‘tune’ the treatment by having muscle activity ‘relaxed’ to a greater or lesser extent to achieve the results you want.
Our treatments are
virtually pain-free. For your comfort, topical pain relief can be applied before injection.
Essex Aesthetics provides a free initial consultation, treatment and complimentary follow-up by the same doctor at our Chelmsford clinic.
Free complimentary follow-up appointments are arranged for 14-21 days after the initial treatment to ensure you are fully satisfied with the results.
There is currently a clear trend for male appearance enhancement. Botox is first and foremost a very versatile substance that helps men correct the unwanted symptoms of:
Excess sweating often interferes with everyday ‘normal’ activities such as the clothes you wear, public speaking or exercise. It’s sometimes regarded as a silent handicap with patients feeling socially paralysed by symptoms ranging from underarm sweat patches to concealed drenched shirts.
Wrinkles can make a man feel old, inadequate, and at times ostracized in the face of a youth focused environment. There’s no substitute for experience, but some men wear their experience on their faces wondering: “How can I feel so young, yet look so old?”
These debilitating circumstances impact men psychologically and socially and in many cases cause men to feel self-conscious in social, work or other situations.
